Forthcoming Events At The Windjammer

Sunday 10th October 8.30pm NEWRISING
 I’m sure that regulars to The Windy and to the Dart Music Festival will have seen the force of nature that are the guys in The Martin Harley Band. Well, Jay, the big lad with the big double bass finds himself with a spare day on tour in the Westcountry with his own band Newrising and so asked if he and the lads could swing by one of his favourite pubs, and then fit in a gig with us the next night....

“Newrising are one of the most excited acts ever to appear on the Cordless Show stage. This is truly acoustic folk with funk at its best. There's a wealth influence encapsulated in their songs - everything from folk storytelling through Afro-bass bounced funk to blues-influenced angst. Close three part harmonies weave together to create a musical tapestry of colour and depth. Adam lays down the groundwork on which Jay builds his guitar and vocals, while Tom provides a solid anchor for their music." Newsrising got an invitation to perform on the Cordless Show after being spotted by a music producer on the internet who says "they are refreshing to hear"
And don’t forget that as it’s a Sunday night the show will start slightly earlier, at 8.30pm.
